The draw and fixtures for Cricket at the 19th Asian Games; Hangzhou, China has been updated by the organising committee as of 11th September.

The Men’s Japan National Team will be one of nine teams competing for a place in the Quarter Finals, where the top five ranked teams will be waiting. Those teams are Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

For Japan are the 10th ranked team in the event, and to reach the Quarter Finals the team must finish top of a three-team group with Cambodia (ranked 13th) and Hong Kong (ranked 7th) the opposition.

Japan will face Cambodia on the first day of the men’s competition, at 15:00 Japan Standard Time on Wednesday 27th September. The second match will be against Hong Kong on Saturday 1st October, also at 15:00.

The Quarter-Finals are scheduled for Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th of October.

The travelling team, announced at the end of July, are excited to test themselves against two of the stronger teams in the region with Hong Kong currently ranked 18th in the world to Japan’s 53rd, while Cambodia recently took home the Gold Medal at the South East Asian Games.

The Men’s Japan National Team recently finished second at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup EAP Final in Papua New Guinea.

  • 27th September: Japan vs Cambodia, 15:00
  • 1st October: Hong Kong vs Japan, 15:00
