ICC WOMEN’S EAST ASIA-PACIFIC TROPHY 2010

The 2010 East Asia Pacific Trophy was hosted by Japan at the Sano Cricket Grounds. It was just a three team tournament featuring Japan, Papua New Guinea and Samoa. 2010 Asian Games – Guangzhou (Olympic Tournament)

China were the hosts of the 2010 Asia Games and the cricket was played in the purpose built stadium in Guangzhou. The tournament was held in the Twenty20 format.   Coached by Katrina Keenan, Japan were drawn in a group alongside Nepal, Bangladesh and Hong Kong, while Pakistan and Thailand joined the hosts China in the opposing group. 2011 ICC World Cricket League EAP Division One Twenty20 (Official Tournament)

In 2011 Papua New Guinea hosted the five team East Asia Pacific regional tournament at their Port Moresby facility. 2012 ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifying Series

In November 2011 Japan took part in the 50-Over ICC Women’s 2012 World Cup Qualifying Series which was played in Bangladesh.   Participation came as reward for winning the 2010 East Asia Pacific Trophy. The team travelled to Bangladesh to compete in a 10-team tournament.   Japan were drawn in a group which included the hosts, Ireland, Pakistan and West Indies. 2012 Pepsi ICC East Asia-Pacific Women’s Trophy

2012 Singapore Cricket Association Women’s Challenge

Following the success in Vanuatu, Japan were invited to take part in the Singapore Cricket Association’s Twenty20 Challenge tournament in July.   Along with the hosts and Japan, Thailand and ‘Cricket Without Borders’ also competed.   The Japan team finished top of the group with three wins and one match abandoned due to rain, but lost a tight final against Thailand.   The homepage for the tournament can be found here (including all individual scorecards) and the travelling squad here.…

2012/13 Pepsi ICC EAP Men’s Championship (Official Competition)

In February 2013 Japan took part in the ICC East Asia Pacific Regional Tournament as part of the pathway to World Cup Qualification and the World Cricket League. 2013 Tour UK Tour

As preparation for the Twenty20 World Cup Qualifier in Ireland, the Japan team toured the UK playing in a host of friendly matches. The team, coached by Scott McNaughton played in a variety of locations across England and Scotland, including the Nursery Ground at Lord’s. 2014 ICC Women’s World Twenty20 Qualifier

As reward for winning the 2012 Pepsi ICC East Asia-Pacific Trophy, the Japan Women’s Team qualified to take part in the first round of qualifying for the Women’s World Twenty20 Tournament to be held in Bangladesh in 2014.   The qualifying tournament took place in 2013 in Ireland.
