The Akishima Mayor's Cup tournament will be held at the completion of the 2018 Cricket Blast Series. This is the biggest event of the junior cricket calendar in Akishima. It has run every year since 2014 and the games are always exciting and fun! The event has a great atmosphere with plenty of fans, volunteers and with flags flying and music playing! 2018 Men’s East Asia Cup
In September 2018 Japan Men travelled to Hong Kong for the second edition of the Men's East Asia Cup. After being Runners Up in the first event two years earlier the team, co-coached by Dhugal Bedingfield of the JCA and Steve Zayler of Cricket Victoria, were extremely motivated. The team, captained by Masaomi Kobayashi, included Kazumasa Takahashi who, at 15 years and one day old, became Japan's youngest ever representative when he played against the Hong Kong Dragons. Embassy Cup 2018
On the weekend of 22nd & 23rd September the newly renovated Sano International Cricket Ground was officially opened with the hosting of the eight-team Embassy Cup and the “Summer Picnic in Sano”. Approximately 2,700 people attended during the two days to watch cricket, sample foods from around the world, experience “Glamping” and watch Paddington 2 on the Nebukuro outdoor cinema.
