ICC Women’s Qualifier – EAP (2019)
The 2019 ICC Women’s EAP Qualifier took place in Vanuatu during May of that year and the Japan Team was coached by Duncan Harrison of Cricket Victoria and captained by Mai Yanagida. This was the first tournament where the matches were given official T20 International status by the ICC and so when Japan defeated Fiji in Round Three it was their first official victory under the new ICC rules. Cricket Blast Cup Edogawa
Cricket Blast will be held in Edogawa again in 2019 with three events being held during the year in May, July and October. The format of the event is teams playing at least four matches each between 1pm and 5pm. These are friendly, introduction to cricket days where children under the age of 12 can have the opportunity to play games and enjoy cricket. Under 19 Cricket World Cup Qualifier – EAP
The Under 19 Cricket World Cup Qualifier EAP was held in Sano in June 2019 and was the first time that Japan had fielded a team in this age group since 2011. Head Coach for the tournament was Dhugal Bedingfield while Marcus Thurgate was named captain. The tournament included teams from Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Samoa and Vanuatu.
