Japan Cricket League (Female): A Historic First for Junior Female Cricketers

In a landmark moment for cricket in Japan, the very first Japan Cricket League (Female) – Junior Division was successfully held in May. This inaugural event marks a significant step forward in promoting and developing female cricket in the country.
The league featured two age categories: Under 16 and Under 19, and welcomed more than 100 young female cricketers. Participants traveled from all corners of Japan, with some even joining from overseas, showcasing the growing enthusiasm and reach of the sport among young women.
For many of the players, this tournament was their first experience playing in a full format cricket match – an important milestone in their cricket journey. The leagues not only offered a platform for competitive play but also encouraged skill development, camaraderie, and a shared love for the game.
The overwhelming participation and positive energy surrounding the event made it a resounding success and a hopeful sign of more opportunities to come for young female cricketers in Japan.

3rd – Panthers
4th – Pandas
