The two teams will compete in the ICC Men’s T20WC East Asia Pacific – Sub-Regional ‘B’ 2024 starting on Saturday, and took the opportunity to take each other on as part of their preparations.

A late partnership of 38 from 43 balls between Padmakar Surve (36 not out) and Gaurav Tiwari (13) kept the game alive, but 20 off the final over was too much and Indonesia finished four runs short on 100 for six after 20 overs.

Japan will take on the Philippines in another pre World Cup Qualifier International at the same venue on Thursday 26th September at the same time, before the tournament gets underway on Saturday.
