After missing the whole of 2020, Cricket Blast returned to the Edogawa riverside on April 10th with a host of eager children taking part in a series of matches.
Almost 50 participants came together to compete for the Cricket Blast Kanto Cup. A number of prominent clubs in Japan were featured with Men In Blue, Tokyo Falcon, Tokyo Rangers all represented, while the Kawasaki Knight Riders and Tokyo Titans appeared at a formal Cricket Blast event for the first time.
In what was a day full of loud cheering and encouragement, all the teams showed the fun nature of cricket at junior level and everyone had something to celebrate.
After the round matches, Tokyo Rangers and Tokyo Titans A were both undefeated and thus earned their spot in the final. A closely fought contest saw Tokyo Rangers (50 runs) claim the Cup ahead of the Titans (32).
A big thank you to all the parent supporters and volunteers who helped with scoring, umpiring and running of the event on the day! We hope to have a similarly successful competition again on May 15.
