柳田選手は、「1試合目に勝って仲間と喜びを分かち合う瞬間が最高でした。」と感想を述べた。宮地選手は、「バッティングもボーリングもチャンスをいただき、結果を残すことができました。5月22日の試合ではMVPを取り、とても嬉しかったです。海外で50点取ったことは大きな自信になりました。」と述べた。

両選手は滞在中、香港クリケット協会のコーチによる強化合宿にも参加した。トレーニングでは日によって守備・フィットネス、試合の分析、スキル練習などと日々の課題や目的が明確に設定され、効果的な練習が行われた。また、オーストラリアや香港など他国の代表選手の競技に取り組む姿勢も大きな刺激となったようだ。

強化合宿について宮地選手は、「元オーストラリア代表の一流選手Stuart MacGillに教えてもらえる機会は日本ではなかなかないのでとても貴重な経験でした。また、彼のアドバイスは的確でそのアドバイスを自分なりに取り入れたことで、5月22日の試合で結果を残すことができたと思います。」と、強化合宿の成果が第3試合での活躍に繋がったようだ。柳田選手も、「素晴らしい施設で、刺激し励まし合える仲間と良い練習ができました。シンプルかつ理論的なコーチングで非常にためになりました。」と有意義なトレーニングに大きな刺激を受けたようだ。

また両選手は、3日間に香港クリケット協会のコーチと現地の小・中学校を訪問し、子どもたちにクリケットを紹介した。参加した子供達は活発な子が多く、全員元気にクリケットを楽しんだ。
