ICC Women’s Qualifier – EAP (2019)
Venue: Vanuatu
2019/05/06 - 2019/05/10
Event Navigation
The 2019 ICC Women’s EAP Qualifier took place in Vanuatu during May of that year and the Japan Team was coached by Duncan Harrison of Cricket Victoria and captained by Mai Yanagida.
This was the first tournament where the matches were given official T20 International status by the ICC and so when Japan defeated Fiji in Round Three it was their first official victory under the new ICC rules. Japan finished fourth out of five in the tournament.
The tour included seven players travelling abroad with the team for the first time and Ruan Kanai became the youngest player to ever play for the Japan Women’s Team in the match against Fiji. The full list of players can be found by clicking here and all results are available on ESPN Cricinfo.
