The government announcement that the State of Emergency in Tokyo and the greater Osaka area is extended until May 31st means that we must also extend our own halt on domestic cricket.

With the news that Chiba, Kanagawa and Saitama are now also under the quasi-state of emergency restrictions it is no longer feasible for club cricket to continue in any capacity in these areas.

We will continue to work with committees to rearrange fixtures where possible, but with uncertainty around when the season can restart we ask for patience and understanding if some matches do have to be cancelled.

We urge all members of the cricket community to follow the necessary precautions and that when we are able to restart cricket that all participants remain extremely vigilant.

We would also like to send out our support to our south Asian communities as the situation worsens across a number of countries in the region and we hope that families and friends are staying safe.

Please stay safe and thank you all for your patience and understanding.
