We are very excited to announce that the Sano International Cricket Ground will host the ICC Men’s U19 WC EAP Division One 2025 in April this year.

The three team tournament will involve Japan, Fiji and Papua New Guinea with the winner qualifying for the World Cup in Namibia and Zimbabwe in 2026.

Teams are due to arrive in Japan on Tuesday 22nd April with matches commencing on Thursday 24th and ending on Tuesday 29th. The teams will play each other twice with one match taking place per day.

Head of Cricket Operations Alan Curr said: “This is the first time our Under 19 team will be in action on home soil since the famous event in 2019 when we last qualified for a World Cup. We hope this new group of players can take inspiration from that achievement and build on the excellent progress they have made to earn their own chance to play the best in the world.”

Japan and Fiji qualified automatically for Division One courtesy of finishing second at the last regional qualifying tournament in 2023, while PNG won the newly created Division Two tournament in 2024 to earn their place.

The full schedule will be announced in due course along with information about how to follow the action live.
