SUMMARY:[:en]Embassy Cup 2020[:ja]エンバシーカップ2020 [:]
DESCRIPTION:The Pakistan Embassy survived a nervous start to earn their first ever Embassy Cup title against a resilient Japan A side who had struggled with the bat but fought hard with the ball.  \nUltimately the contest was settled by a familiar foe\, former national team player Hanif Niazi\, who had a fair degree of luck in his game-changing innings of 36* off 23 balls to chase down the target.  \n\nEarlier Pakistan had Japan A in all sorts of trouble against their spin-heavy attack\, Abdul Samad and Rashid Rana each grabbing three cheap wickets as Japan A were bowled all out for just 78.  \nJapan were able to take four wickets in the defence of their total\, and at 24/3 Pakistan were wobbling\, but Niazi played a few big shots to settle the match in their favour.  \nIn the playoff for third place the India Embassy went hard with the bat against a Sri Lanka Embassy side that was not able to contain them. Prashant Kale (50) and Sanket Pandhari (43) laid a platform for Sarfaraz Petkar to go crazy with 31 from just nine balls.  \n\nA total of 173/4 was always likely to be too tough to chase and Sri Lanka ended 150/5\, the third-highest score of the weekend but ultimately in vain.  \nIn Group B Japan were grateful to Nozomi Tomizawa (3 wickets for just 5 runs) who wrecked havoc on the middle order of the Nepal Embassy team. Despite losing the toss\, Japan were rampant in the opening exchanges as wickets fell regularly to leave Nepal 31/5. \nNepal had Arjun Gautam to thank for helping them post any kind of score. His 29 helped his team to bat out the overs and finish 87/8\, Akira Kuribayashi picking up two wickets late on.  \nMarcus Thurgate (25) and Shogo Kimura (47*) made lightwork of the chase\, passing the total in just the eighth over and ensuring that Japan won Group B for the second year running.  \n\nIn the Group B third placed playoff the Bangladesh Embassy posted the highest score of the weekend as Shaiful Islam’s 63 and 45* from Abu Hasnat carried them to 161/5 against the British Embassy. Tight bowling then restricted GB to 100/7; Vikram Nagunathan top scored with 34 but a win by 61 runs was a fair reflection of the two sides.  \n\nAll of us at the JCA would like to thank the teams for making the effort to get together in what has been an extremely difficult year\, and for playing in great spirit.  \nWe would also like to give special thanks to Chris Thurgate\, Kris Bayne\, Augustine Jacob\, Rob Newman\, Masaki Kawashima and Mumtaz Alam for umpiring across the two days.  \nLastly thanks to everyone who watched on our YouTube Channel\, please remember to subscribe so that you get notified of future events. \nSummary of Results:  \nGroup A \n\nFinal: Japan A lost to Pakistan Embassy by six wickets\n3rd Place Playoff: India Embassy defeated Sri Lanka Embassy by 23 runs\n\nGroup B \n\nFinal: Japan B defeated Nepal Embassy by nine wickets\n3rd Place Playoff: Bangladesh Embassy defeated British Embassy by 61 runs

SUMMARY:[:en]Embassy Cup 2019[:ja]エンバシーカップ[:]
DESCRIPTION:Embassy Cup\n\nThere were double celebrations at the Sano International Cricket Ground in September 2019 as both the Japan Men and the Japan Under 19 teams won their respective groups at the Embassy Cup. \nThe men\, who played in Group A alongside Embassy teams representing India\, Pakistan and Sri Lanka had come fourth a year ago in the same group so produced two excellent performances to win this time around. \nTheir first match was a thriller on Saturday afternoon\, defeating the Embassy of Pakistan by just two runs. Batting first Japan had scored 109 all out despite a solid start given to them courtesy of Makoto Taniyama (29) and Sota Wada (43). \nPakistan were going well in the chase before a rampant Japan attach induced a collapse of seven wickets for just 24 runs to bowl them all out for just 107 and spark wild celebrations. Taniyama earned the MVP award for his runs and two wickets. \nOn Sunday Japan played the Indian Embassy and it was Nozomi Tomizawa who earned the MVP award as he took three wickets at the start of the innings to limit the Indian score to 117/8\, which Japan chased with four wickets to spare much to the delight of the supporting crowd. \nThe Japan Under 19 team were making their debut in the competition and were in Group B alongside the Embassies of Bangladesh\, Great Britain and Nepal. They registered a big win on Saturday as they dismissed the Nepalese team for just 52\, Aoto Okajima was later awarded MVP for his three wickets\, before Marcus Thurgate scored 36* to ensure Japan won easily. \nThe Embassy of Bangladesh had overcome the British Embassy on Saturday by 39 runs but the Japan Under 19s proved too good for them in the Group B Final. Batting first Japan scored 147/6 thanks to 60 from Neel Date\, the highest individual score of the weekend. \nBangladesh could only manage 112/9 in their reply as Yugandhar Retharekar took three wickets and Japan earned the win by 35 runs; Neel Date deservedly winning the MVP award. \nIn the third place playoffs the Sri Lankan team had a huge win by 81 runs against the Embassy of Pakistan in Group A while the Embassy of Nepal won the Group B playoff by three wickets thanks to a boundary off the last ball of the match. \nEntrance was free for spectators who were able to enjoy cricket and the international atmosphere as well as the nature rich environment. Cricket games for all ages and detox water using Cleansui* (provided by Mitsubishi Chemical) was free for all while food stalls serving curry and other local delicacies were be available. \n*Cleansui is a product (registered trademark) of Mistsubishi Chemical Cleansui Corporation\, a subsidiary company of Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation. \n\nSchedule\n\n\n\nDate / Group\nTime\nVenue\nFixture\n\n\nSeptember 28\, Saturday\n\n\n\n\n\nGroup A\n10:15 – 13:15\nSICG 1\nIndia Embassy vs Sri Lanka Embassy\n\n\nGroup B\n10:15 – 13:15\nSICG 2\nJapan U19 vs Nepal Embassy\n\n\n\n13:15 – 14:00\n\nLunch Break\n\n\nGroup A\n14:00 – 17:00\nSICG 1\nJapan vs Pakistan Embassy\n\n\nGroup B\n14:00 – 17:00\nSICG 2\nBangladesh Embassy vs British Embassy\n\n\nSeptember 29\, Sunday\n\n\n\n\n\nGroup B\n10:15 – 13:15\nSICG 1\nGroup B Final\n\n\nGroup B\n10:15 – 13:15\nSICG 2\nGroup B Third vs Fourth\n\n\n\n13:15 – 14:00\n\nLunch Break\n\n\nGroup A\n14:00 – 17:00\nSICG 1\nGroup A Final\n\n\nGroup A\n14:00 – 17:00\nSICG 2\nGroup A Third vs Fourth
