SUMMARY:[:en]Embassy Cup 2019[:ja]エンバシーカップ[:]
DESCRIPTION:Embassy Cup\n\nThere were double celebrations at the Sano International Cricket Ground in September 2019 as both the Japan Men and the Japan Under 19 teams won their respective groups at the Embassy Cup. \nThe men\, who played in Group A alongside Embassy teams representing India\, Pakistan and Sri Lanka had come fourth a year ago in the same group so produced two excellent performances to win this time around. \nTheir first match was a thriller on Saturday afternoon\, defeating the Embassy of Pakistan by just two runs. Batting first Japan had scored 109 all out despite a solid start given to them courtesy of Makoto Taniyama (29) and Sota Wada (43). \nPakistan were going well in the chase before a rampant Japan attach induced a collapse of seven wickets for just 24 runs to bowl them all out for just 107 and spark wild celebrations. Taniyama earned the MVP award for his runs and two wickets. \nOn Sunday Japan played the Indian Embassy and it was Nozomi Tomizawa who earned the MVP award as he took three wickets at the start of the innings to limit the Indian score to 117/8\, which Japan chased with four wickets to spare much to the delight of the supporting crowd. \nThe Japan Under 19 team were making their debut in the competition and were in Group B alongside the Embassies of Bangladesh\, Great Britain and Nepal. They registered a big win on Saturday as they dismissed the Nepalese team for just 52\, Aoto Okajima was later awarded MVP for his three wickets\, before Marcus Thurgate scored 36* to ensure Japan won easily. \nThe Embassy of Bangladesh had overcome the British Embassy on Saturday by 39 runs but the Japan Under 19s proved too good for them in the Group B Final. Batting first Japan scored 147/6 thanks to 60 from Neel Date\, the highest individual score of the weekend. \nBangladesh could only manage 112/9 in their reply as Yugandhar Retharekar took three wickets and Japan earned the win by 35 runs; Neel Date deservedly winning the MVP award. \nIn the third place playoffs the Sri Lankan team had a huge win by 81 runs against the Embassy of Pakistan in Group A while the Embassy of Nepal won the Group B playoff by three wickets thanks to a boundary off the last ball of the match. \nEntrance was free for spectators who were able to enjoy cricket and the international atmosphere as well as the nature rich environment. Cricket games for all ages and detox water using Cleansui* (provided by Mitsubishi Chemical) was free for all while food stalls serving curry and other local delicacies were be available. \n*Cleansui is a product (registered trademark) of Mistsubishi Chemical Cleansui Corporation\, a subsidiary company of Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation. \n\nSchedule\n\n\n\nDate / Group\nTime\nVenue\nFixture\n\n\nSeptember 28\, Saturday\n\n\n\n\n\nGroup A\n10:15 – 13:15\nSICG 1\nIndia Embassy vs Sri Lanka Embassy\n\n\nGroup B\n10:15 – 13:15\nSICG 2\nJapan U19 vs Nepal Embassy\n\n\n\n13:15 – 14:00\n\nLunch Break\n\n\nGroup A\n14:00 – 17:00\nSICG 1\nJapan vs Pakistan Embassy\n\n\nGroup B\n14:00 – 17:00\nSICG 2\nBangladesh Embassy vs British Embassy\n\n\nSeptember 29\, Sunday\n\n\n\n\n\nGroup B\n10:15 – 13:15\nSICG 1\nGroup B Final\n\n\nGroup B\n10:15 – 13:15\nSICG 2\nGroup B Third vs Fourth\n\n\n\n13:15 – 14:00\n\nLunch Break\n\n\nGroup A\n14:00 – 17:00\nSICG 1\nGroup A Final\n\n\nGroup A\n14:00 – 17:00\nSICG 2\nGroup A Third vs Fourth

SUMMARY:[:en]Under 19 Cricket World Cup Qualifier - EAP[:ja]U19 クリケットワールドカップ東アジア太平洋予選[:]
DESCRIPTION:The Under 19 Cricket World Cup Qualifier EAP was held in Sano in June 2019 and was the first time that Japan had fielded a team in this age group since 2011. \nHead Coach for the tournament was Dhugal Bedingfield while Marcus Thurgate was named captain. The tournament included teams from Fiji\, Papua New Guinea\, Samoa and Vanuatu. \nThe young Japan team produced some inspired individual performances throughout the event; Kazumasa Takahashi scored 68 runs against Samoa in the opening match while Marcus Thurgate also scored two half centuries in the tournament to win the best batter and best player of the tournament. \nVictory in all their matches meant that Japan had qualified for their first ever ICC Global Event\, the ICC Under 19 Cricket World Cup which would take place in South Africa in January & February 2020. \nThe full list of players selected for the qualifying tournament can be seen by clicking here. The full list of results can be found on ESPN Cricinfo. \nSchedule: \n\n\n\nDate\nTime\nUnder 19 Cricket World Cup Qualifier – EAP\nVENUE (SANO\, TOCHIGI)\n\n\nJune 2nd\, Sunday\n10:00 – 17:30\nJapan vs Samoa\nSano International Cricket Ground 1\n\n\n\n10:00 – 17:30\nFiji vs PNG\nSano International Cricket Ground 2\n\n\nJune 3rd\, Monday\n10:00 – 17:30\nSamoa vs Fiji\nSano International Cricket Ground 1\n\n\n\n10:00 – 17:30\nVanuatu vs Japan\nSano International Cricket Ground 2\n\n\nJune 5th\, Wednesday \n10:00 – 17:30\nFiji vs Vanuatu\nSano International Cricket Ground 1\n\n\n\n10:00 – 17:30\nSamoa vs PNG\nSano International Cricket Ground 2\n\n\nJune 6th\, Thursday\n10:00 – 17:30\nPNG vs Vanuatu\nSano International Cricket Ground 1\n\n\n\n10:00 – 17:30\n Japan vs Fiji\nSano International Cricket Ground 2\n\n\nJune 8th\, Saturday\n10:00 – 17:30\nPNG vs Japan\nSano International Cricket Ground 1\n\n\n\n10:00 – 17:30\nVanuatu vs Samoa\nSano International Cricket Ground 2\n\n\n\n*Tuesday 4th\, Friday 7th and Sunday 9th June are reserve days in the event of bad weather.
