Hong Kong claimed their third Women\u2019s East Asia Cup title after a ten-wicket win<\/a> over Japan in Incheon.<\/p>\n

Batting first Japan had contributions down the order to post 108 for six after 20 overs.<\/p>\n

The Japan batter struck three sixes, two from the blade of Haruna Iwasaki who gave the innings impetus with a 15-ball 22.<\/p>\n

Although the Japanese bowlers kept things tight in the powerplay, breaking the imposing Hong Kong opening partnership of Natasha Miles and Mariko Hill proved an insurmountable challenge.<\/p>\n

There was controversy in the ninth over when Japan strike bowler Ahilya Chandel was incorrectly prevented from bowling, having returned to the field within the allowed time.<\/p>\n

Ultimately the quality of Hill (48*) and Miles (40*) was too much for Japan as they took their team home with ten wickets and 3.2 overs to spare.<\/p>\n

Hill deservingly won the best batter award for the tournament, while Liu Mengting of China was named best bowler and tournament MVP.<\/p>\n
