His four for 17 against the Sunrisers proved just a warm-up as he destroyed the Lions with five for 12 to spark a collapse from 81 for two to 108 all out and a win by <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cricclubs.com\/cricketorjp\/fullScorecard.do?matchId=3365&amp;clubId=21278\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">25 runs<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Sunrisers were able to bounce back from their defeat in the morning thanks to their own internationals, as Ibrahim Takahashi (four for 12) and Kendel Kadowaki-Fleming (39 off 29 balls) did enough to claim a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cricclubs.com\/cricketorjp\/viewScorecard.do?matchId=3366&amp;clubId=21278\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">27-run win<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> over the Kansai Chargers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The only other team to manage a 100% record on Day One were the South Kanto Super Kings, who are desperately seeking a return to former glories.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Super Kings held their nerve in a tight match against the Lions, and it was no surprise that their internationals took the limelight; Alex Shirai-Patmore setting up a total of 128 for eight with his 41 from 46 deliveries before Piyush Kumbhare really tamed the Lions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-22825\" src=\"https:\/\/cricket.or.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Piyush-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cricket.or.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Piyush-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cricket.or.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Piyush-1024x681.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/cricket.or.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Piyush-768x511.jpg 768w, https:\/\/cricket.or.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Piyush-1536x1022.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/cricket.or.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Piyush-2048x1363.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kumbhare\u2019s two for 16 included a maiden and left the Lions with too much to do at the end.
