SUMMARY:[:en]WWCQ: Samoa vs JPN[:ja]女子W杯予選：Samoa vs JPN[:]
DESCRIPTION:Match Report\nJapan played its last match of the tournament on the 22nd of July against tournament hosts Samoa. \nBatting first\, Japan scored 135 runs\, their highest total of the tournament\, thanks to Miyaji (27)\, Ota (20)\, and Kobayashi (25). Ota battled for 109 minutes and 120 balls to provide Japan the platform it needed to have a chance in winning their first match of the tournament. \nChasing 136 to win\, Samoa put on 47 runs for the 3rd partnership and 33 runs for the 4th. Japan brought the match back into balance taking another 3 wickets\, but it wasn’t enough as Mulitalo of Samoa hit a couple of boundaries to take Samoa over the line. \nPlayer of the match was awarded to L Telea of Samoa while M Uliao (Samoa) and S Miyaji (Japan) were also awarded player of the tournament points for their performance. \nJapan will next play in the East Asia Cup scheduled around February 2017 in Hong Kong\, and then the Women’s World T20 EAP Qualifiers around May. \nTournament Schedule & Scores

SUMMARY:[:en]WWCQ: JPN vs PNG[:ja]女子W杯予選：JPN vs PNG[:]
DESCRIPTION:Highlights\n \nMatch Report\n  \nPapua New Guinea maintained their 100% record at the Women’s World Cup Qualifier in Samoa\, defeating Japan by eight wickets in their final official match of the tournament. \n  \nJapan won the toss and elected to bat\, but were in trouble immediately when Madoka Shiraishi was dismissed first ball. Things got quickly worse as wickets continued to tumble and runs proved hard to come by. \n  \nThe dismissal of captain Mai Yanagida left Japan 37/6 after less than 19 overs and in serious danger of collapsing to the lowest score of the tournament. \n  \nHowever\, Vice Captain Etsuko Kobayashi showed great composure and leadership coming in at number eight and fighting hard to take the team through their allocated 50 overs\, finishing 105/9 with Kobayashi 31 not out. \n  \nRain fell heavily during the lunch break meaning that the target was reduced by the Duckworth/Lewis method to 88 required from 33 overs. \n  \nJapan began well thanks to Shizuka Miyaji dismissing both opening batters to have PNG 22/2 after eight overs\, but from there Konio Oala (52*) and Pauke Siaka (25*) combined to take PNG home comfortably with eight overs remaining. \n  \nFull congratulations to PNG\, who have been the outstanding team of the tournament and the EAP Region will wish them well in their next qualifying campaign for the Women’s World Cup. \n  \nJapan will play the last match of the tournament against Samoa on Friday the 22nd at 6am JST. \n  \nLive scores of the match will be available here. \n  \nPlease also see the JCA Twitter for live information. \nTournament Schedule & Scores

SUMMARY:[:en]WWCQ: JPN vs Samoa[:ja]女子W杯予選：JPN vs Samoa[:]
DESCRIPTION:Highlights\n \nMatch Report\nJapan lost a close match against hosts Samoa in the Women’s World Cup Qualifier in Apia yesterday\, going down by 26 runs after being set a tall target of 208 to win the match. \nJapan made a couple of changes after Game One\, bringing in Aki Umetani and Rio Endo to replace Miho Asama and Kaoruko Nishida\, and gave a much improved performance. \nSamoa won the toss and batted first\, scoring quickly to begin with despite an early wicket for Kurumi Ota (2/29). Japan’s opening bowler proved hard to get away\, but there was not enough high quality support until Shizuka Miyaji (1/20) came on to bowl. \nSamoa captain Regina Lill’i\, who has been living in Japan for the last year\, proved the difference between the sides with a patient 56\, but her dismissal came amid a flurry of wickets at the end of the innings with Japan taking five wickets for just 28 runs in the final five overs. \nIn the chase several Japan players made good starts but fell as they tried to accelerate the scoring\, however when captain Mai Yanagida (45) combined first with Etsuko Kobayashi (26) and then Miho Kanno (21*) to put on partnerships of 62 and 37 respectively the game was very much in the balance. \nThe run out of Yanagida sparked a collapse however\, as Japan fell from a well-placed 163/4 to 181 all out\, with Lili’i again being a menace with the ball taking 3/8 from her nine overs. \nJapan will play another friendly against Cricket Without Borders on Tuesday before Papua New Guinea again on Thursday. \nTournament Schedule & Scores

SUMMARY:[:en]WWCQ: PNG vs JPN[:ja]女子W杯予選：PNG vs JPN[:]
DESCRIPTION:Highlights\n \nMatch Report\nJapan were defeated by five wickets by Papua New Guinea in our opening match of the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier in Samoa today. \nWinning the toss and electing to bowl first\, the PNG captain Pauke Siaka was delighted to see her bowlers maintain excellent discipline and make scoring incredibly difficult for the Japan players. \nAfter the loss of three early wickets\, Shizuka Miyaji and Miho Kanno staged a mini-recovery with a partnership of 38\, but either side there was very little for the Japan team to cheer as Veru Frank\, Siaka and Sibona Jimmy all collected three wickets to dismiss Japan for just 67. \nHowever\, the Japan side showed great spirit in trying to defend such a small total. In the six overs before the lunch break Kanno managed to get a breakthrough\, and after the restart wickets fell regularly as spinners Ayako Nakayama and Miyaji made scoring difficult and forced mistakes. \nUltimately it Kopi John at the top of the order stayed firm and her 28* guided PNG to their second win in as many days and now make them the favourites for the tournament. \nPauke Siaka was named the player of the match while Kopi John and Shizuka Miyaji were also awarded player of the tournament points for their performances. \nJapan will attempt to bounce back when we take on Samoa on Monday. \nTournament Schedule
